ISO7310FC internal modulation frequency

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7310FC

Hi,

Could you please advice the internal modulation frequency used inside the ISO7310FC so we can assess the potential impact.

Thanks,

Jani

  • Hi Jani,

In the ISO7310, an oscillator is used to set the time scale of the DC/PWM channel - the time base is 20ns. However, this frequency won't reflect in the output spectrum.

The PWM modulated communication is packetized. The packets repeat every 8us. The packet structure has a custom header and tail, and the body of the packet has the sampled low frequency information of all the channels. The smallest pulse width inside the PWM packet is ~20ns.

It is difficult to define a value for the carrier frequency for the PWM path. The noise is very randomized at the output.

However, our recent capacitor isolators including the ISO73xx, are very quiet in general. I have sent you the emissions test results of ISO73xx and other devices over email. Chances of interference to external circuits are very small.

    Rgds,
    Anant
