ISO7721: isolation ratings per UL 1577

Hi Team,

Silicon labs SI8622BC has same package as ISO7721FDR(also P2P) , why it can claim its isolation rating is 3.75kVrms but ISO7721FDR only has 3kVrms rating?

Btw, ISO7742x SSOP package has same clearance distance with ISO772x but why it only has 2.5kVrms rating?

    Hi Vincent,
    Regarding ISO7721FDR vs SI8622BC, please note that even though both devices use the same package, there are some internal lead frame design differences which causes TI device to arc over at 3.75 kVrms while Si Labs device does not. Our packaging team has not figured out the root cause of this difference yet. So at this time we can't claim higher than 3 kVrms for our D package devices.

    I have some good news about ISO7742 SSOP package. We are in the process of updating the isolation rating from 2.5 kVrms to 3 kVrms. We expect to complete the data sheet update by Friday of next week.
