Part Number: ISO1042
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1050

Dear Ti Experts,

My customer used ISO1050  in their product and it is MP now. They will kick off a new project with isolate requirment, they've noticed a new device ISO1042. They want to know if this one is the hero device, or they should just keep to use ISO1050. Could you kindly help to give some advices? Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Bruce,

Thank you for reaching out to us for checking on ISO1042. The device ISO1402 is TI's latest generation of isolated CAN transceiver with improved performance over ISO1050. The following points list some of the advantages that ISO1042 brings over ISO1050. Thanks.

    1. Supports higher isolation ratings.
    2. Supports CAN FD speeds upto 5 Mbps.
    3. Higher bus fault protection voltage.
    4. Higher common-mode voltage.
    5. Better EMC performance.
    6. Also available in smaller package with same isolation ratings as bigger package.
    7. Supports lower minimum datarate of 9.2 kbps compared to 37 kbps of ISO1050.
