ISOW7841: Lower EMI Solution

Part Number: ISOW7841
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN6505A, ISO7741

Hi,

Please let me know if there is a lower EMI solution comparing with ISOW7841.

Best regards,
Kato

  • Hi Kato,

Currently ISOW78xx family of devices is the only series with DC/DC power supply integrated. If you are fine with external transformer based isolated power supply solutions then you can use SN6505. SN6505A/B based solution offers the best emissions performance and meets CISPR 22 and CISPR 25 emissions standards.

Let me know if you have any other questions, thank you.

  • Hi Koteshwar-san,

Thank you for your quick response.

Is the combination of SN6505A/B, TPS76350 and ISO7741 the best for a lower EMI if replacing ISOW7841 ?

    Best regards,
    Kato

  • Hi Kato-san,

Yes, the discrete solution with SN6505A/B + LDO + ISO7741 would be the best solution over ISOW7841 from emissions point of view.

Please do note that ISOW7841 emissions depend quite a lot on customer PCB, not all PCBs will have emissions issue. If customer has not evaluated ISOW yet, I would recommend them to evaluate ISOW along with SN6505 + ISO77xx as backup option. If ISOW already meets their emissions requirement then they can go ahead with ISOW. If they do not meet the emissions requirement then customer can go with the backup option.

If customer has already evaluated ISOW and is facing emissions issue and doesn't want to spend time to do experiments to improve emissions then you can suggest SN6505 + ISO77xx option. Thanks.
