ISO1042: ISOLATION FOR RS 485

Hi,

Please suggest me an IC for isolation of rs485 with the creepage and the clearance to be more than 8mm and also overvolatge category 4 for less than 600vrms

The size should be as small as possilble

    Hi Abhishek,

    The device ISO1042 that you have listed out in your post is our latest isolated CAN transceiver devices. I see that you are looking for isolated RS-485 transceiver device, for your requirement the most suitable device would be one from ISO14xx family. Please find below a table that lists out the 6 devices that ISO14xx family offers and the major differences between them (from datasheet page 4).

    The device is available in SOIC-16 (DW16) package whose creepage and clearance is slightly higher than 8mm and also supports overvoltage category IV for 600Vrms, as shown below (from datasheet page 9).
