ISO1050: ISO1050 connection question

Part Number: ISO1050

Hi support Team

Regarding the CAN bus wiring method, I have seen the relevant information as follows, in short, it is CAN_H & L twisted pair + double shield

my questions

1. Assuming that there are multiple CAN Devices using ISO1050DUBR, do GND2 need to be connected together?
2. Is the CAN_GND shielded part, connected to GND2?

thanks a lot

  • Hi Red,

Thanks for reaching out, please find below my inputs.

    1. By connecting GND2 of all CAN nodes together, the overall system noise performance improves and hence this is recommended but not a mandatory requirement.
    2. This is upto the customer to take a call but we do recommend connecting CAN_GND to GND2 of CAN node for better noise performance.
