ISO1540: Diode Current Question

Dear Team,

From the spec, 

SDA1 and SCL1 has a diode in drain side of MOS to ground, the current of IOL is from negative to 3mA.

How to know max IOL and why has negative current in diode?

    Hi Jim,

    The max recommended IOL for SDA1 & SCL1 is specified in the ISO1540 datasheet as shown below. There is no current limiting inside the device and customer would need to choose external pull-up resistors such that the current into device is limited to <3.5mA.

    Regarding the negative current shown in the curve, that is the reverse leakage current of the diode which is in µA.
