ISO1540: What is the purpose of Diode

Hi Experts,

ISO1540 has integrated diode between SDA/SCL and GND. Below is the figure on page 1.

Due to this diode, VOL becomes 800mV(max) thus there is a case that MCU VIL cannot meet VOL of ISO1540.

What is the purpose of this diode?
