DDR3 Signal Probe

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC3306M25, ISO7741, ISO1410

I am designing a PCB which will incorporate probes of all traces between a DDR3 controller and its corresponding DDR3 IC. As an example, I will refer you to the Keysight Technologies N5425A 12 GHz probe head which performs a similar task to what I need, however, my situation allows me to solder the probe permanently on the PCB.

I am looking for a surface mount isolator which will function for the 200 MHz - 800 MHz range for a 1.35V signal.

Thank you,

Alexandre Proulx

  • Alexandre,

It seems that maybe something like an isolated ADC, like the AMC3306M25, would be what could work here. The isolated amplifiers don't have the bandwidth for your requirements as of right now.

Would your design allow for an ADC operation?

Also, the isolation forum is more for digital isolation devices like the ISO7741 or the ISO1410. If you are indeed trying to isolate an analog  signal, then I can redirect you to the AMPs forum.

  • Hi Alenxandre,

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, we currently only have isolators that support datarate of upto 150Mbps and only have devices that support 1.8V or higher signal levels. Hence, I do not have a device to suggest for your requirements. Sorry about that.
