Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1410
Hi team,
My customer wants to know what grade can our device bus side survive when without any protective device (TVS, ESD, etc) passing ESD, EFT, and surge EMC tests? Thanks.

Hi Charles,
Thank you for reaching out to us!
ISO3088 is an older generation device that does not support same-side IEC EFT, surge, and EMC specifications.
SN65HVD308XE is the transceiver used inside the ISO3088. INT-TRX team came up with this reference design to use external protection components to achieve system-level protection.
However, I recommend our latest device ISO1410 (pin-to-pin to ISO3088) for your newer designs. This device supports same-side IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge up to 16kV and IEC 61000-4-4 electrical fast transient up to 4kV without any external components.

Alfred
