ISO7721-Q1: Dual-Channel Digital Isolators

Part Number: ISO7721-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7721

Hello,

I would like to use this digital isolator in one of my projects and iam requesting you to provide me LTspice model for the above mentioned model or any replaceable part number with same configuration

looking forward to hear from you soon

Thanks and regards,

Musthakali

  • Hi Musthakali,

    Welcome to TI E2E forum!

Spice simulations currently do not support simulation of devices with two isolated GNDs hence, we do not have Spice model for ISO7721-Q1. For I/O characterization of device, you can use IBIS model that is available in ISO7721-Q1 product page on TI website in the section named "Design & development" under "Design tools and simulation" tab. IBIS models can be used in some simulation software like Advanced Design System (ADS) by Keysight and HyperLynx by Mentor Graphics. Hspice is also commonly used for IBIS model simulations and I believe PyBERT, a free tool, might be useful as well.

A full list of IBIS resources can be found on the IBIS open forum: https://ibis.org/tools/

Let me know if you have any other question, thank you.

  • Hello Rao,

Thanks for your message , i have created my entire circuits in LTspice for my project and because of non availability of spice model for the componenet ISO7721 Q1 and your suggestion to use some other simulation tools is not feasible for me so i would like to know about any replacement part from ti for this component

    Thanks in advance

    Regards

    Musthakali

  • Hi Musthakali,

I understand your situation. Unfortunately, LTspice models are not available for any of the digital isolators from TI due to similar challenge.

I have not used LTSpice myself but since digital isolators are primarily buffers that incorporate isolation as well, maybe you can use some delay block in your simulations and include the isolator timing and electrical parameters from datasheet. I am not sure if this is possible but something that might be helpful if possible.

If you do not have any further questions, then I would like to go ahead and mark this thread closed and resolved. Let me know if you have any further questions, thanks.
