ISO1212: Minimum RSENSE requirement

Part Number: ISO1212

Hi,

I'm considering the ISO1212 for use in an isolated voltage sensing application that does not require IEC61131 compliance. Is there a minimum RSENSE requirement (i.e. can I make the RSENSE resistor value arbitrarily large and reduce the ISO1212 input current to an arbitrarily small value)?

Thank you!

Best Regards,

Hong En

  • Hi Hong,

Thank you for reaching out to us and showing interest in ISO1212.

I believe you wanted to know the minimum ISENSE value (thereby maximum RSENSE) that is allowed for the device to operate normal. ISENSE has a minimum and maximum and the values are 2.2mA and 7.3mA, respectively. This corresponds to a maximum and minim value of 562Ω and 200Ω for RSENSE, respectively.

Let us know if you have any other questions, thanks.

  • Hi Koteshwar,

Yes apologies for the typo I meant minimum ISENSE. Thanks for the reply, that was what I was looking for.

One clarification - are the 200R and 562R values nominal or min/max across voltage/temperature? Am thinking what resistor tolerance is required.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Hong,

    Thanks for the confirmation.
Regarding the resistor tolerances, variation of resistance beyond these values due to resistor tolerance is allowed. Please do choose resistors with 1% for best results. Thanks.
