The solutions against battery reverse connection and minus surge for UCC27201-Q1

I do not suggest the resistor and diode in both cases because the driver decoupling cap should be low ESR and spikes during switching can develop across the resistor. This may slow down the switching and also false trigger. One solution is add series diode but this will increase the power dissipation and lower the efficiency. Another solution is to add resistor diode and fuse across the battery. It will protect against reverse battery by blowing the fuse. For negative surge protection a resistor between the half bridge midpoint and the HS pin maybe a solution

2. What is resistor diode (in "another solution")?

3. In the case of the wreck by adding negative surge, where is the weak pin for the wreck?

4. In page 2, there is a loop of the reverse current. I think there is a problem of the battery reverse connetction.
