TPS7A63xx-Q1 EN pin setting



I would like to confirm EN setting.

The customer wants to provide EN voltage by input voltage with dividing resister.
In this case, I have questions.

1. How much is the internal resister EN to GND?
     If we get the value, we can calculate rsisters.

2. Or do you have decommended value for resisters for dividing (from IN to EN and from EN to GND)?
3. If we can, do you have decommended value for the resister (ONE resisiter) connecting from IN to EN?

    My recommendation is that EN pin can tie to IN pin directly as both pin are high-voltage pins. The external resistor divider is not needed.

    I have a question.

    If over 40V input adds at EN pin, how does TPS7A63xxx-Q1?

    I don't know how does it operate in the case over 40V., because VIH is specified 40Vmax.

    The maximum voltage should not exceed 45V, otherwise the reliability will be influenced. Besides, if the input voltage is between 40V and 45V, the duration should be less than 480ms.

     

    Vin and EN pin have the same voltage tolerance.

    Thank you your reply.

    I have inform it to the customer. They rejected it, because if EN pin(No.4) and GND pin(No.5) occur the short, the battery short to GND. They want to avoid it.

    I understood the divide resister is not needed, but I think they need the pull-up resister.

    Could you please teach the value of the pull-up resister you recommended?

  • Hi Atsushi-san,

     

    The sum of external resistor value should be less than 100Kohm considering the anti-inteference ability.

    When the voltage at EN pin is close to the high threshold, there is 510Kohm internal pull-down resistor. Customer can adjustable the external resistor divider ratio according to this.
