Where are mechanism descriptions ?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65381-Q1

Im reading "TPS65381-Q1 Multi-Rail Power Supply for Microcontrollers in Safety Applications(Literature Number: SLVSBC4F)".

• Controlled and protected enable output (ENDRV) for external power stages or peripheral wake-up

• SPI command decoder with parity check

• SPI data output feedback check

• Reset circuit for initializing external MCU
• EEPROM analog trim content CRC protection

• Device state controller with SAFE state in case of detected error event

The above 6 safety mechanisms  are section in "5.4.1.1 Safety Functions and Diagnostics Overview"

Where are mechanism descriptions ? Described in other documents ?

  • Hi Arriy,

I've assigned this post to the appropriate applications engineer, he will respond to your question.

    Regards,
    Karl
  • Hi Arriy,

The safety mechanisms are documented in the FMEDA (FMEDA, Pin FMEA, FIT calculations, DFMEA, list of safety mechanisms) or what under SafeTI is called the Detailed Safety Analysis. It is available via specific Non Disclosure Agreement with our business unit. Your local field sales office can help arrange it if necessary.

  • Hi Karl and Scott.

    Thank you for answering.

    I understand safety mechanisms are

    There are additional question.

There is no description  in "TPS65381-Q1 Multi-Rail Power Supply for Microcontrollers in Safety Applications(Literature Number: SLVSBC4F)"

of the all mechanisms are description in the FMEDA,SafeTI ?

  • At previous post "I understand safety mechanisms are " is not need.
Please ignore "I understand safety mechanisms are ".

    I'm sorry.
  • Hi Arriy,

Yes, the safety mechanisms are list in the FMEDA sheet (FMEDA, Pin FMEA, FIT calculations, DFMEA, list of safety mechanisms) or what under SafeTI is called the Detailed Safety Analysis.

The datasheet is for how to use the device and the safety documentation then maps the features into functional safety terms such as safety mechanisms.
