Is there any data using PGA450Q1EVM?

Hi Team,

My customer has interested in PGA450-Q1 and considers to buy PGA450Q1EVM.
Is there any evaluation data (maximum distance of detecting, resolution, angle, target object, etc) using PGA450Q1EVM?

I believe the data is depending on transducer-transformer sensor pair but it is okay with default sensor (Murata MA58MF14-7N and Mitsumi K5-R4).

  • Hello K.Yaita,

You are correct, the resulting data is dependent on the transducer-transformer pair. You'll find example measurements for the Murata MA58MF14-7N and Mitsumi K5-R4 at both short and long distances in the datasheet's Application Curves section.
  • Hello Akeem-san,

    Thank you for your support.

Did you say the following application curves are the data with PGA450Q1EVM?

I would like to ask two questions.

    1)
Is unit of y-axis (red square part) correct?

    2)
Is value of x-axis (blue square part) correct?
I believe it is typo because PGA450Q1EVM can't detect object for 200m~600m distance..

  • Hi Yaita,
Yes, the Application curve data was collected with the PGA450Q1EVM.
    Responding to your questions:
    1. The y-axis of both plots is the Amplitude given as an 8-bit value, not meters. We will correct this in the next datasheet revision. The 8-bits come from selected segment of the ADC's 12-bit output as either the MSB, LSB, or Mid-8 bits the user configures for FIFO storage post-Digital Signal Processing.
    2. The x-axis of the long distance measurements should be in units of centimeters, not meters. We will correct this in the next datasheet revision. Please refer to the legend of 1m to 6m measurements instead. The PGA450-Q1 cannot detect objects between 200~600m.
