omapl137HT

I am looking at the omapl137HT for 125-150 deg C operation for deployment times of 24 - 36 months. Is there any way of derating the device to achieve  this by dropping the clock rate or switching off parts of the device.

Thanks in advance

Dr C Maclean

  • Hi Dr C Maclean,

The datasheet guaranteed up to 125 deg c the highest operating temperature (Automotive grade) we have not characterize this device up to 150 deg c .So, we have no idea about dropping the clock rate or switching off the parts of the device to reach the 150 deg c operating point.

Stresses beyond those listed under "absolute maximum ratings" may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress ratings only, and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under "recommended operating conditions" is not implied. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability

  • I believe that the HT part is rated to 175 deg C. There is a derating curve in the data sheet which would give me an approximate life time at 125 deg C. Am I correct?

  • Colin,

The HT die is a modified version of the commercial die that allows us to get to 175C for 1K hours.  That specific version of the commercial die had some issues with channel hot carriers at lower temperatures and had to be revised.  The HT die has not been updated at this time to improve the operating life at lower temperatures.  The operating curve in HT datasheet is valid.
