54ABT245



Hello TI,

My customer is using the National Semiconductor’s 54ABT245.  They are doing an engineering evaluation of a COTS FPGA board that has this transceiver on the board.

They've looked at the data sheet and it is not clear whether it has clamping diodes on the inputs, and they can’t find any info on output rise time and fall time.

Can you help?

    This product is obsolete.   I believe that National stopped offering and supporting  the commercial version somewhere around 1998 and the military version somewhere around 2004.

    This is an industry standard product and TI offers the SN54ABT245.

    I pulled the data sheet for the SN54ABT245 and will get this to my customer.  I don't see where it addressed this question though:

    I suspect there isn't any clamping diodes as those words don't show up in the data sheet.  

    Can you confirm 10ns/V he rise and fall times?

    Since National/TI sold this business to others (Fairchild spin off for the commercial part and Arrow/Zues for the military part), I do not have any documentation for the product other than the datasheet. 

    In any case, the datasheet does have an input diode clamp specification (third line item in the DC Electrical Characteristics table).

    I cannot give guidance on rise and fall times.  This is an industry standard product and for the mil part, there are several suppliers to the SMD 5962-92148.   Rise and fall times are not specificed for this part in the SMD.

    There are no rise and fall time specifications in the SMD.
