If you use current x-fmr that would be less dissipative as opposed to using a resistor. You can step down the primary current using current x-fmr .
Select the resistor value such that the trip point is 1.2V (typ) as highlighted in electrical table under current sense amplifier. you will also require an RC filter as shown in Fig 5 of the datasheet to suppress the initial peak current spike.
If you decide to use a resistor only that would be more dissipative. Decision whether to use a current x-fmr or resistor only is based upon current level in primary switch.

suppose if i use a Rsense Resisitor, the resistor should be choosen at the maximum peak current, such that the maximum peak current multiplied by Rsense resistor should yield 1.2V..
