WEBENCH® Tools/CDCM7005-SP: Webench Divider Misunderstanding

Part Number: CDCM7005-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCM7005

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello,

I want to create the following frequencies with the CDCM7005-SP: 200MHz, 80MHz and 50MHz. The Webbench Design Tool gets the solution wit one CDCM7005, an input frequency of 25MHz and a VXO of 400MHz.

In my understanding this solution is only possible with a p-divider of 5, which doesnt exist in the CDCM7005. Is there a misunderstanding our a failure in the webench results?

Thank you,

Best reagards,

Rainer Preuß

  • Hi,

I agree with your findings that the WEBBENCH model appears to include modes of operation not supported by the device. In addition to div5 showing as supported the model also incorrectly shows div7 through div15 as being supported. I am forwarding this post to the WEBBENCH forum for follow-up.

    Thanks
    Christian
  • Rainer,

Thank you for bringing your finding to us!

Indeed, you are right and we had updated the CDCM7005's divider paramerer.

CDCM7005 will not be one of the solutions with your give design criteria with this update.

This update will be available as soon as next prodcution cycle by end of next week.

We appreciate that you took time to provide your feedback to us so that we can continue improving the tool for better user experience.

    Thanks you!
