TLK2711-SP: TLK2711 IC K-CODE

Part Number: TLK2711-SP

In TLK2711-sp IC datasheet,

what is K-code in RKLSB, RKMSB, TKLSB, TKMSB IC pin?

And what it is indicated?

explain briefly.

  • Kevin, the TLK2711 is using 8B/10B encoded data. It uses a comma character on the LSB to define where the byte boundary is located. The receiver can then see the comma, and know that that byte aligns to the LSB at the receiver. Otherwise, it has no way to know from the serial stream where one byte starts and stops.
Please see this app note. It will help understand the concept better.
