SN74AHC1G04-Q1: Spec questions

Part Number: SN74AHC1G04-Q1

Hi team

I would like to ask a question related to its spec that:

Vcc is a 3V power supply. Could Vih and Vil can be understood as the input voltage is adjusted from high(such as 12V) to low(such as 0V) or from low to high, Vih is start being controlled by 2.1V, and Vil is start being controlled by 0.9V.

Can it be understood as a Schmidt input converter?

  • As shown in the footnote of this table, this device does not have Schmitt-trigger inputs and is not guaranteed to handle voltages between VIL and VIH.

And 12 V (or any other voltage above 7 V) will damage the device.
