SN74HC00-Q1: Difference between SN74HC00QPWPG4Q1 and SN74HC00QPWPQ1

Part Number: SN74HC00-Q1

Hi Experts.

Customer is using SN74HC00-Q1 in new project. There are two part number: SN74HC00QPWPG4Q1 and SN74HC00QPWPQ1.

In datasheet, SN74HC00QPWPRG4Q1 is RoHS & Green, SN74HC00QPWRQ1 is RoHS & Non- Green.

1. Do these two devices meet the requirements of RoHS/ELV for hazardous substances?
2. are there any exemptions if the device can't meet the requirement of RoHS/ELV for hazardous substances?

Could you share the difference between those two devices?

Best Regards

  • Hi Songzhen,

Historically G4 suffixes meant devices were rated to be "Green" or "Lead Free." However, as time has passed, all devices have been pushed to these new "Green" or "Lead Free" standards, but the part numbers have remained available so that customers have had a consistent orderable part number.

These parts are essentially the same and are both ROHS compliant. The only difference is the SN74HC00QPWRQ1 is not compliant to the "TI Green definition". Please refer to this document TI Low Halogen (Green) Statement for further details on TI's Green compliance.

    Regards,

    Sebastian
