SN74ALVC244: the difference between SN74LVC244APWR and SN74ALVC244PWR

Part Number: SN74ALVC244

Hi team,

What's the difference between SN74LVC244APWR  and SN74ALVC244PWR

how to choose the best one on the server application?

  • The "A" suffix on LVC devices is just to differentiate them from earlier versions without "A". Those older versions no longer exist, so the "A" does not have any practical meaning.

ALVC is a different logic family. The main differences are higher speed and lower maximum input voltage.

  • Why were only these two buffers selected? It seems like you (or your customer) narrowed this down already, and either one would work -- so I would recommend both.

how to choose the best one on the server application?

A "server" is not an application of logic -- ie you can't make a server with only a buffer. You would need to find out details of the actual application of the device -- how is it being used? What's the operating temperature range? Is there a limitation on propagation delay from the buffer?
