SN74HC14: Alternative

Part Number: SN74HC14
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74HCS14, CD40106B, CD74HCT14, SN74HCT14, CD74ACT14, SN74ACT14, SN74AHC14, SN74AC14, CD74AC14, SN74AHCT14

Hi Team,

I am looking for a product to replace SN74HC14N, the recommended alternative SN74HCS14 is currently out of stock.

The customer finds CD40106B and would like to know the difference between this and SN74HC14N can you help? also, can I use CD40106B as an alternative?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Marvin

  • The SN74HCS14 does not exist in the N package.

CD4000 devices are optimized for much higher voltages.

The SN74AHC14 also is out of stock. The SN74AC14 and CD74AC14 are available, but have much higher drive strength (their fast edges could lead to more EMI). If your supply voltage is 5 V, you can use the SN74HCT14, CD74HCT14, SN74AHCT14, SN74ACT14, or CD74ACT14.
