CD4043B: input Logic level over complete temperature range?

Part Number: CD4043B

Team,

Can CD4043BD(W) or CD4044BD(W) be safely operated with Vdd=3.3V and input levels up to ~3.3V (HIGH) over the entire temperature range?

Use case:
supply voltage is Vdd = 3.3V
our logic levels are 0V (LOW ) and 3.3V (HIGH).
According to the data sheet page 1, 3.3V supply voltage is in the "Recommended Operating" range.
BUT HIGH - Input levels on page 2 of the datasheet vary with input voltage and are only specified up to 3.5V at Vdd=5V:

Thanks in advance,

A.

  • The 3 V … 18 V range is guaranteed over the full package temperature range.

The VIH specifications are 70% of VDD. But without an explicit specification for a 3.3 V supply, you can only assume that VIH is somewhere below 3.3 V. In any case, a 3.3 V signal will work.

The CD4000 family is optimized for high voltages. If possible, choose a device from a low-voltage logic family.
