TXS0206: SD CARD LEVEL TRANSLATION

Hi,

We are using SD card connector GTFH08131YHR in our design which is of 5V and has 8 positions, as our FPGA supports only 1.8V we need a level translator for this. Kindly suggest a level translator suitable for this connector part.

The TXS0206A is designed for exactly these signals. But please note that SD cards do not run with 5 V; the TXS0206(A) does not support more than 3.3 V.

(The -A version has better ESD protection, which you need.)

In the microSD card connector part number GTFH08131YHR, voltage rating is given as 5V. Does it mean it the maximum voltage supported by the connector is 5V or 5V is the typical voltage need to be given for this part. Please clarify this one. As I have gone through some more parts also for 100V rating connector they have given 3.3V supply as VDD.

The connector's rating tells you that when you apply 5 V AC, the connector itself will not break. But the SD card would get fried by that.
