SN74LVC1G14: DPW package operating temperature vs. SN74LVC1G17DPW

Part Number: SN74LVC1G14
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1G17,

Hi,

if you look in the datasheets there is the Buffer https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/sn74lvc1g17.pdf on page 15 with the DPW / X2SON package at max. Op Temp with +125 °C.

And in the Inverter https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/sn74lvc1g14.pdf on page 15 with the DPW / X2SON package at max. Op Temp with +85 °C

Now, I have the requirement of max. Op Temp at +120 °C and was doing fine with the Buffer (SN74LVC1G17DPW). And I was thinking, if I need a inverting function, I can just switch the device to the SN74LVC1G14DPW because it should be the same.

Well it is for all other packages, but why not for the DPW / X2SON package?

Can any one explain this please? Or is the 85°C a typo in the datasheet?

Kind regards,

David
