SN74LVC1G386: Input Schmidt Trigger?

What's up TI,

The TI SN74LVC1G386 data sheet claims the inputs are standard CMOS yet your competitors offer this part with hysteresis (Schmidt trigger) on the inputs.

Can you confirm the type of inputs on the TI part please? I'd like to use this on an optocoupler and I would love Schmidt trigger inputs.

Hi Mike,

This device does not have ST inputs. If you are referring to the NXP device, it also does not have "true" ST inputs. It has Schmitt trigger action which you can read more about here: https://www.digikey.com/en/articles/schmitt-trigger-versus-schmitt-trigger-action

Unfortunately we do not have a 3 input ST XOR gate.

Both TI and Nexperia have a little bit of hystersis. LVC Characterization Information says:

An input hysteresis of approximately 100 mV is inherent to the LVC process geometry, which ensures the devices are free from oscillations by increasing the noise margin around the threshold voltage.

This is not enough to allow slow signal edges; like TI, Nexperia specifies a maximum rise/fall time of 20 or 10 ns/V:
