TXB0104: TXB0104QRGYRQ1 - exposed thermal center pad

For the Prat number TXB0104QRGYRQ1, The datasheet suggests that if this pin is used then connect it to the secondary ground or leave it open.

My question is "what is this secondary ground?"

is it referring to have multiple grounds? or common ground can be connected to ther exposed thermal center pad?

if the exposed thermal center pad is not intended to connect to the common ground then will it have any issues if connected?

Attached is my schamtics which I have followed. Please review the above schematics and let me know.

There is only one ground. Your schematic is OK. (You do not need two decoupling capacitors if they would be placed near each other.)

The datasheet (revision J) says in table 5-1 that

the exposed center thermal pad must either be connected to Ground or left electrically open.

Where did you read "secondary"?

I got the secondary from the datasheet present in the TI Website.

Sorry; I looked at the non-Q1 datasheet.

The TXB0104-Q1 datasheet does not say "to a secondary ground" but "as a secondary ground", i.e., the pad can be used as a second ground pin. This wording is misleading, which is probably why it was removed from the TXB0104 datasheet.
