SN74LVC1G11-Q1: Momentary overcurrent

Part Number: SN74LVC1G11-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

I found that my circuit would drive a maximum current of 119mA for about 2ms.
Is it safe for this device to drive the overcurrent for a short period of time?
If it is not a problem, I would like to know the maximum current and the maximum time.

Regards,
Ryu.

  • Hi Ryu,

We do not specify a maximum pulse current amount/duration. Anything exceeding the absolute maximum value for any amount of time is liable to damage the device (and 2ms is rather on the longer end for these sorts of currents). We recommend that you add a serial damping resistor to the output of the device to limit the amount of current on the output.

    Best,

    Malcolm
