About TXG1021-Q1, I want to know what is the difference between ground-level and logic-level?

What I understand is:

ground-level: The voltage difference between side A and side B.
logic-level: The voltage difference on same side. Such as VCCA or Ax to GNDA.

Is this right?

The ground levels are the voltages at GNDA and GNDB. (Most translators have a single ground.)

Hello Leo,

I agree with Clemens. A logic-level translator supports up/down translation while using the same ground reference. A ground-level translator supports up/down translation while supporting different ground references. For instance, A-side can support 0 to 5V signals while B-side can support -1V to 2V signals.

Ground can be as high or low as ±10V as long as VCCx - GNDx does not exceed the recommended operating conditions.

So, for extreme usage scenario, we can use A side signal from 0 to 5V, B side signal from 10 to 15V (GNDB is 10V, signal is 15V), right?

Hello Leo,

That's correct. Since the difference between VCCB and GNDB does not exceed 5.5V, we can use GNDB = 10V and Signal = 15V.
