SN74LVC2G125: characteristics of Ioz

Part Number: SN74LVC2G125

Hi all,

1) The specified value of Ioz is 10uA.
There is no sign for plus or minus. Am I correct in understanding that there are both positive and negative leaks?
From the data sheet, Ioz is 10uA only in the positive direction.

Therefore, I think it represents the current flowing from the IC to the output pin. Since the output pin is supposed to be used at a voltage lower than Vcc, I think it is only written in the positive direction. Is this understanding correct?
Also, which one tends to have a higher leakage current due to the characteristics of the IC?

2) Regarding the characteristics of Ioz, how does it change with aging? It tends to decrease or increase with aging.

  • Hi Ryusuke,

Please see this definition we offer for IOZ:

We only consider the current flowing into the device, hence we only consider a positive current leakage value. Due to the test conditions, the output pin can actually be driven higher or lower than VCC by external circuitry. Usually NMOS fets have higher leakage.

I don't have any data on how leakage current changes with aging so I can't give a confident answer. Leakage usually tends to increase with age.

    Best,
