Part Number: TPS2HCS10-Q1
Hello TI Team,
I am currently designing an eFuse circuit using the TPS2HCS10-Q1 and evaluating the worst-case margins for our system's overcurrent protection.
In the datasheet (Section 6.5 Electrical Characteristics), the "Overcurrent protection threshold, immediate shutdown" (IOCP) is listed with TYP values ranging from 10A to 25A depending on the ILIMIT_SET_CHx register setting. However, there are no MIN or MAX values specified for these threshold settings.
Could you please clarify the following points?
- What is the expected tolerance (MIN/MAX variation) for the IOCP thresholds across the full operating temperature range and process variations?
- Is the IOCP detection mechanism completely independent of the KSNS current sense circuitry? We assume that IOCP uses a faster, dedicated internal comparator and therefore has a wider tolerance than the ±5% accuracy specified for the KSNS output, but we would like to confirm this.
Any guidance or data on the IOCP tolerance would be greatly appreciated to ensure a safe and robust design.
Thank you in advance for your support!
