What is the difference between regular High-Speed CMOS logic and HC logic prefaced by "CD"?

    Thomas,

    The CD74HC423 is a TI part, while the 74HC423 is a generic part number from other manufacturers.  The CD indicates that this part was part of our acquisition from Harris.  TI designed logic parts start with an SN.

    One example where we have both:  SN74AC08, CD74AC08 (Quad 2-Input AND gate)
