Hi,

I have some unused inputs on both sn74avch16t245 and sn74avch8t245. can I connect them to ground? will it cause unwanted current drawn?

It is mentioned in the sn74avch16t245 datasheet that all unused data inputs of the device must be held at VCCI or GND to ensure proper device operation.

But nothing is mentioned in sn74avch8t245 datasheet.

    KI,

    I would suggest that you leave unused inputs disconnected/open, since the AVCH family of translators support Bus Hold:

    The footnote in the SN74AVCH16T245 is a mistake and I have made a note to remove it. Thank you for brining this to my attention.
