Hi Tom, the inputs and outputs are sensitive to ESD, How are you using considering the parts? We have ESD protection devices which can be used to protect general purpose signal lines to regulatory levels. http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/interface/esd-emi-protection-overview.page

Hi,

Thank you for your quick response.

I'd already ordered the parts, didn't want to add anything extra to the circuit if I didn't need to.

Is Vcc or power in also ESD sensitive?

The ESD protection shunts the discharge to the power or ground lines, where it goes the way of the lowest impedance, which is to the decoupling capacitors and to the power supply. The chip itself is implicitly protected by having a higher impedance than those.
