CD74HC4059: Query on usage of CMOS Programmable Divide by N counter

Part Number: CD74HC4059
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LS292

Hi,

I am new to TI forum and was looking for some advise. Hope someone can help.

I need to implement a ‘divide by 2^20’ counter using 47HC4059 IC. In this regard I had the following queries pls:

  1. Can I use it to divide a LVCMOS3V3 output of a crystal oscillator? If so, can anyone provide me an exact circuit diagram (with information on decoupling capacitors) for doing so?
  2. Can I use a single IC to create a divide by 2^20 and 2^10 signals of the same clock signal?
  3. If I give a 3.3v supply, will the output signal(s) be compatible with input pins other LVCMOS3v3 devices?
  4. In case there are any new ICs which have come up for this purpose, can anyone pls. inform me of the part number pls?

Looking forward to answers of all the queries pls.

Thanks and Regards,

Arvind Gupta.
