TINA/Spice/SN74AHCT123A: Model not available

Part Number: SN74AHCT123A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

I was wondering whether TI could provide the SPICE model of component SN74AHCT123A. I am in the process of circuit design.

I have seen that you do provide the model of a similar one: http://www.ti.com/product/SN74LV123A/toolssoftware

Is it possible that maybe in the future you "translate it" from this one? (Should probably not take too much time). Or if you can give me some hints how to edit it by myself, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Fernando,
Circuit design with a one-shot like the SN74AHCT123A is relatively simple. The device generates an output pulse of width t_w = k*R*C

The part that's complicated is determining k, and a simulation won't give that to you directly. You really need to prototype this circuit to be certain that your external components will generate the pulse you desire across your system's planned operating conditions. Capacitors tend to be particularly troublesome when it comes to variations across manufacturing and temperature - often having total variance measured in 100's of %.

We do have plans to release a behavioral PSpice model for this device within the next two years, but it's not close to complete as of today.
