1. The front page of the data sheet seems to indicate that the RGY package is only rated for 85C ambient. Is this true?
2. With respect to the thermal/mounting pad, is it okay to connect this to ground? Or does the copper have to be floating?

Hey Kurt,
(1) The RGY package is rated for 125C.
The Package Orderable Addendum table is automatically built from a database, and it typically has the best/most up to date information:
The front page table is only updated with the datasheet, and it’s updated by hand – meaning I can’t change that table until we update the entire datasheet to the new format. This datasheet _is_ on our list to update, but it’s behind about 300 others. In our current plan, this datasheet will be updated around the end of next year.
(2) The thermal pad can be left floating or it can be tied to ground. We recommend stitching it to a ground plane for the best thermal performance – but with logic, thermal performance is very rarely an actual concern in operation.
Just FYI – this is one of our FAQs on E2E.
