SN74LV244A: SN74LV244ARGYR 5V Tolerant with 3.3V supply

Hi TI Experts,

I wanted to confirm that the SN74LV244ARGYR device inputs are tolerant with 5V if the device is supplied with 3.3V. The abs-max shows 7V and the supply input only shows a recommended min for high level.

Hi,

Yes you can drive your device up to 5.5V as in the recommended section with the supply to 3.3V. The ABS max section lists 7V to imply that you could technically have your inputs be to 7V but it isn't recommend if you want to guarantee the values in the electrical characteristics sections of the datasheet.
