SN74LS86AN Active or Obsolete?

The data sheet for the SN74LS86A is stamped with "Obsolete No Longer Available". However, I beleive only some variations of this device are obsolete. ti.com shows all versions of the LS86 available except the SN74LS86AN3.  Please confirm.

Also, there used to be a non-A version of the SN74LS86. These now are all obsolete.  Any idea what the difference between the A and non-A verisons were? I assume an LS86A can be dropped in for an old LS86 socket.

    Hi Mark ,

    Yes, I am surprised on why the datasheet is marked obsolete. The SN74 parts and some SN54 are active.
    Could you consider SN74ALS86 as well ? It should be the better version of LS86 version in terms of speed , Icc , drive current /operating spec.
    you could also consider CMOS versions as well. I have filtered out the link below for quad exor gates:
