EK-TM4C123GXL: Using J-Link and gcc with this EV board

Part Number: EK-TM4C123GXL

Greetings,

So far I have learned a lot here and have enjoyed working with this kit. I am using it to get acquainted with the TM4C processors as our prototype product boards are running behind. Now that I know a bit about the board I want to start migrating to the environment I will have with the prototype board so a couple of questions please.

I have soldered up a header on the J-Tag pins and want to know if there is anything I need to do to the USB based debugger or will they play nice. I would like to use the USB connection for power.

Does anyone use gcc instead of the ARM compiler for this series?

Thanks,

John
