MSPM0G3507-Q1: MSPMOG3507

Part Number: MSPM0G3507-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1042DEVM, ISO1050, SYSCONFIG

Hi TI

I have used MCAN single message tx example from MSPM0 SDK . and in the case of TCAN1042DEVM I am using  ISO1050 Isolated CAN Transceiver,

The problem is I am not getting an output on the TX Rx line of MSPM03507 TX RX PIN when I click the button . as per the example.

  • Hello Prajesh,

You should double check your hardware connections between the MSPM0 Launchpad and the TCAN1042DEVM.  The example was made for a boosterpack that is not currently released.

You can also double check the MSPM0 functionality by adding the loopback feature in Sysconfig and testing that independent of the other boards.

  • 1. The loopback feature is working. I have checked that using the loopback example (mcan_loopback)

    2. I have done the above connection and checked using a single message TX example. it did not show any signal on the TX rx pin.

3 what changes I should make in code or in hardware to work the TX and RX example?

    4. what jumper setting i should keep to work the above connection?

    5. what changes I make in sysconfig to work the above connection?(in singleMCAN single message tx example ).

  • Prjesh,

VCC1 on the ISO1050 needs to be 3.3V as that's the voltage on the MSPM0. If you have been transmitted to the MSPM0 (MSPM0 RX) with this configuration, then you may have damaged the pins on the device as the CAN pins are not 5V tolerant.
