Tool/software:

We are bringing up a new board using the AM2632-Q1. Using CCS with an XDS110 probe I have read the MSS_TOPRCM_SYS_RST_CAUSE (0x5320000C) register after the MCU restarts. We are getting a value of 0xC1. This value is not in the spruj4e Register Addendum Table 2-1413 page 1084. We are trying to understand the source of the warm start. We remove the external device connected to the signal on the AM2632.

This restart behavior repeats many times. It eventually stops. When it stops I am able to run our application via CCS with no issues.

I am refining my statement from above. The SYS_RST_CAUSE is 0xC0 which is the HSM WDT. I was able to get this far by reading and clearing the cause.

SO now my follow on question: What do we have to do to keep the HSM WDT from timing out? I have not found anything to explain this in the HSM data sheet, the AM263x Technical ref.

Additional information. We are using boot mode QSPI(4s) UART fallback. The Flash is blank so the AM2632 is going to always fallback to UART boot mode.

Hi Jeffrey Hanzlik,

While working with CCS please use the Devboot mode. Typically the HSMRT firmware would disable the HSM WDT or pet the HSM WDT.
