AM2634: Is it possible to download code into AM2634 by using JTAG 14Pin connector provided on Docking station

Thanks Brennan! It worked. I was able to download the code in controller on development board using 14-PIN JTAG connector. 

After referring schematic of Proc card, I think there is no ISOLATION for JTAG signals coming from docking station and they are directly connected to JTAG MUX. Once, we put SW5 in left position. JTAG signals will get routed to controller without isolation. Is it correct?

Would like understand more about isolation ICs and why do we need 33ohm resistance? Do we really need them if I am downloading the code using external JTAG probe.

Correct, the JTAG MUX controls the routing of the JTAG signals - from either the on-board XDS110 emulator or to the edge connector to be used with an external JTAG emulator. There is no isolation.

Which 33-ohm resistance are you referring to?

I have successfully established the JTAG connection with IR and DR scans are done. I can load the program into controller.

We are going to make more PCBs with AM2634. So, is it better to have JTAG onboard with own serial no or external JTAG probe?

I can download the code for Core0 but when I try to download for core1, core2, core3 then its thowing below error.

For out of box convenience the LP-AM263, LP-AM263P, TMDSCNCD263, and TMDSCNCD263P EVM designs implement an onboard XDS110 emulator with JTAG and auxiliary UART-USB bridge is implemented with a TI TM4C MCU and high-voltage isolation. However, for actual custom systems, a simpler JTAG/Trace debug header should be implemented. This allows for external JTAG and Trace pods to be attached to the system as needed during development. The header can then be removed entirely or depopulated for full production of the system to save cost. It is up to you, but in order to save board area and cost, I would suggest an external JTAG probe.

Please let me know the following information, and I will attempt to replicate your setup:

• CCS version
• AM263x MCU+ SDK version
• EVM and revision

Have you tried uploading the code using the on-board JTAG emulator? Or only using the external XDS110 + docking station?

Hi Brennan,

I am using ccs1270 and mcu_plus_sdk_am263x_09_02_00_55. I can load the code in TMDSCNCD263 development board. But, we have designed customized board with AM2634 controller and trying to load code using external JTAG probe in it. I am able to load only "empty_am263x-cc_r5fss0-0_freertos_ti-arm-clang " for Core 0 but not in core 1, 2,3.

Thanks, I can download into all the cores now.

Currently I am debugging CPSW ethernet connection on this customized board. In this, both the ACT and LINK leds on RJ45 are not glowing. Do you have any idea about this?
