TDA4VH-Q1: The TDA4VH is compatible with Micron's 2GB LP DDR4

Part Number: TDA4VH-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG, TDA4VH

Hi TI,
I'm currently experiencing an issue and need TI's assistance. We are porting Micron’s 2GB LPDDR4 to the TDA4VH using TI’s SysConfig online tool, version 0.12.0. The LPDDR4’s operating temperature exceeds 95°C. When I set the temperature to over 95°C in the configuration tool, it automatically generates a value of 976 for tREFIab (ns) : JEDEC = Temperature Dependent. The value for tREFIpb (ns): JEDEC = Temperature Dependent is 122. However, when I checked Micron’s data sheet, these values are 3906 and 488, respectively. The values generated by the sysconfig tool differ significantly from those in Micron’s data sheet. Should I use the values generated by the sysconfig tool, or should I strictly follow the data sheet?

  • Hi,

The refresh interval is scaled by temperature. The value shown in the table 116 is the "1x" value. At higher temperatures, a value of "0.5x" or "0.25x" may be required. At colder temperatures, a value of "2x" or "4x" may be used. The TDA4x DDRSS hardware does not have the capability to automatically scale the refresh interval with temperature. Thus unless software is managing the refresh interval, the fastest refresh interval needs to be used.

    Regards,
    Kevin
