Hi all,

I'm using Hercules TMS570 kit. I would like to send few bits of information from one board to another just using EMAC, MDIO and PHY and without using any standard ethernet protocol. I took the PHYdp83640 file from the lwIP example software, to use for my work. But, i don't understand how are the EMAC or the MDIO and PHY connected. Is there any PHY register where i need to copy the data in order to put that into the bus ?
Is there any document where i could get detailed information on Ethernet functionality on this device ?

Agraj,

Yes, there is a new version of HALCoGen (3.08.00) with support for the newer Ethernet APIs that were there in the sample demo that I sent you. You can download it here : http://www.ti.com/tool/halcogen , or you can auto update from your existing HALCoGen installation.

Hello Chaitanya,

I tried the example you had previously sent, the 5086.EMACExample_TxRx which I have attached here.0243.5086.EMACExample_TxRx.zip

The .hcg file is for TMS570 not RM48. The files pre-generated when run directly seems to be working. I am testing just by putting a breakpoint inside the EMACRecieve function to see whenever the function is called.

But if i create a HalCoGen file with RM48L950PGE and import the dil in the folder, regenerate the include and source folders, and retain the same sys_main file, The interrupt is never triggered. Will it be possible to send me the hcg and dil files which were used to create the files sent? The ones for RM48.

Hi Agraj,

Apologies for sending a sample project for the wrong variant. I don't have the original source files, as it was something I made on the spot, following the procedure listed here:

You can create a new project with the same settings using HALCoGen and then replace the sys_main. It should work just fine. (Not sure if importing the dil and changing the variant works).

Hello Chaithanya,

I tried to create a new project with same settings and replaced the sys_main file. But it had the same result. I have attached the new halcogen file. It would be great of you could suggest any reason for it not working.
