TMS470MF03107 microcontroller has 2 UART which are compatible for LIN also.

I want to understand whether i can use separately one as an UART and one as a LIN or only I will have to use both either as UART or as LIN??

Vikas,

For SCI/LIN, you can use each one either as SCI or as LIN.

LIN adds some front-end processing to SCI which is why they are combined like that.

Hi Vikas,
yes, both UARTs can be used as either UART or LIN. In another word, you can use one as UART and another as LIN.
