PLLCTL1 Register Update On The Fly

Hi,

A simple question. We would like to update PLLCTL1 register on the fly, i.e. whilst our program is running. We need to make small adjustments to PLL frequency to maintain event synchronisation with another processor, by incrmenting/decrementing field PLLMUL.

Does anybody know if this is not advised, not recommended or will it just work with no problems?

Tony,

Each time the PLLMUL is modified, the PLL will have to re-lock. During re-lock, the PLL clock output is stopped.
The CPU and all device will be stopped, waiting for the clock to be released by the PLL wrapper.

In other words, it is not recommended to change the PLL setting on the fly.
